Abstract:
Subcommittee Hearing was on: "The State of Federal Information Security". The key points were: Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) is not outcome based but based on compliance. New, more effective security performance metrics are being considered to determine current status and predict future issues. In order to do this, OMB is working with Federal Chief Information Officers, Chief Information Security Officers, Inspectors General and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
